چکیده
In forming tungsten carbide layer by low temperature and vacuum CVD, uniformity of film thickness, adhesion and gloss achieved when the effective zone of coating set is increased to 4450 x 1,100mm is described. Characteristics of tungsten carbide layer are evaluated and compared with other materials. Some practical applications to the mechanical parts of plastic injection molding machines are introduced.

STUDY ON NIOBIUM CARBIDE COATING FORMATION ON AISI L2 STEEL USING THERMO-REACTIVE DEPOSITION METHOD
In the present research, to form niobium carbide coating on the surface of AISI L2 steel Thermo-Reactive Deposition method (TRD) in a molten bath was used. Niobium carbide coating treatment was carried out at 1173 K, 1273 K, and 1373 K for 2, 4, and 8 hours. The molten bath contained 20wt.% borax (Na2B4O7), 5 wt.% boric acid (B2O3), and 75 wt.% ferro-niobium. The presence and properties of...

In the present study, Thermo-Reactive Deposition method (TRD) in a molten bath was used to form niobium carbide coating on AISI L2 steel. The coating was formed in five different composition of borax (Na2B4O7), boric acid (B2O3), and ferro-niobium. For all of the five compositions of molten bath, niobium carbide coating treatment was carried out at 1173 K, 1273 K, and 1373 K for 2, 4 and 8 hour...
متن کاملAnalyzing the performance of diamond-coated micro end mills
A method is presented to improve the tool life and cutting performance of 300mm diameter tungsten carbide (WC) micro end mills by applying thin (o300nm) fine-grained diamond (FGD) and nanocrystalline diamond (NCD) coatings using the hot-filament chemical vapor deposition (HF-CVD) process. The performance of the diamond-coated tools has been evaluated by comparing their performance in dry slot m...

Ultrafiie WC powders were produced from WCla-C3Hs-H2 gas mixtures in a conventional tubular hot-wall downstream CVD reactor. At reaction temperatures between 1100 and 1550°C powders containing W, WZC, WC and carbon were produced. The overall chemical compositions of the tungsten coinpounds as well as the free carbon contents depended strongly on the reaction temperature and the ratio of the rea...
